Ambassadors Earn Late 2-1 Win
|
The Fremont Ambassadors stymied the Deltaville Deltas, 2-1, at Rogers Centre. Mike Ross had a good day at the plate. He was 2-4 with a home run for Fremont. Jim Unknown earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Despite the win, the Ambassadors still have a lousy 39-96 record.
Jordan Barrera helped out the Fremont cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 1-3 with 2 walks.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Fremont manager John McNair.
