Glace Bay catcher Steve Muljana made his presence felt in the 8-5 Miners triumph over the Deltaville Deltas. Muljana was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Cory Crabtree earned his 30th save in 33 chances. Glace Bay is now 83-54, while Deltaville is 46-91.

Jose Ortega had a big grand slam home run for the Miners in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Glace Bay trailing 5-4 and the bases loaded, he sized up a slider from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Montano and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Miners on top, 8-5.

"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Tyler Byrd, the Deltaville manager.
