The Grand Rapids Jet Hawks took Huntsville pitcher Danny Orfila's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Jet Hawks Ballpark. The final score had Grand Rapids getting past the Rockets, 3-2. Orfila went 6 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 4. The win was credited to 23-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Soto in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Eric Mohr took the loss. James Straughn was called on to finish, recording his 25th save.

Matthew Robertson chipped in for Grand Rapids, stroking a crucial 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Grand Rapids manager Sadayuki Nishikawa said.

The Jet Hawks now own a record of 77-58.
