People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

The Newark Flyers outlasted the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 6-5, in 14 innings. Billy Sawyer provided some punch at the plate for Newark. He was 4-6 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. The Flyers have now won 4 straight.

The decisive blow was delivered by Josh Winkler in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Mario Hernandez to win the game for Newark. The home crowd went nuts.

"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Winkler.
