Kansas City Slaps 4-2 Loss on Fremont
|
Kansas City Dust Devils starter Matt Sandridge turned in a top-notch performance against the Fremont Ambassadors at Kansas City Grounds. The result was a win for the Dust Devils, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Sandridge, now 2-5. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Kansas City, with the win, sits at 35-98.
The Dust Devils got a big at-bat from left fielder Steve Veith. For the game, Veith went 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 6th triple of the season gave Kansas City a 3-2 lead.
Kansas City manager Tim Cargill was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
