Engineers Ballpark hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
Tyler pitcher Dan Tettemer had a large part in his team beating the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 2-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Tettemer. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Juan Cotto. Justin Pratt sewed up the save, his 24th.
Michael Cruz, who is tied for 4th in the N-A in triples with 5, had a direct impact on the outcome. Cruz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Tyler up, 2-0.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Tettemer.
The 4th-place Trolls have won 5 straight games.
