Glace Bay Gets 8-5 Road Win
The Glace Bay Miners beat the Newark Flyers, 8-5, at Newark Fields. The win was due in part to shortstop Trevor Cunningham, who went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Cory Newton snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season. Jeremiah Porter closed the door for Glace Bay, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

Glace Bay used the timely hitting of Collin Mays to capture the win. The right fielder socked a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Miners ahead, 7-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We've got a great group of guys," Mays said, "and we're having fun right now."

Glace Bay currently is in third place in the Northern A East Division at 80-49.
