Desperados Stay Hot With 3-0 Win

The Santa Rosa Desperados extended their winning streak.
The Santa Rosa Desperados got a magnificent effort from pitcher Randy Fischer, who kept St. Catharines hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Desperados win at Keelhaulers Ballpark. J.D. Pirillo earned save number 1 this season.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Desperados had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when shortstop Mike Maynard hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Matt Lofstrom and made the score 2-0, Desperados. Maynard went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"Randy gave us everything he had," said Santa Rosa manager Carlos Acevedo.
Now 108-23, the Desperados have won 12 in a row.
