The Glace Bay Miners knocked off the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks, 4-1, in Northern A action at Jet Hawks Ballpark. Glace Bay pitcher and Beachwood, New Jersey, native Larry Weese had an outstanding performance. In 6 innings, Weese surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Cory Crabtree was credited with the save for Glace Bay, his 28th of the season.

The Miners took advantage of an error in the top of the second inning. Glace Bay was leading 1-0 when Bobby Banuelos hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Miners in front, 3-0.
