Thanks in large part to pitcher Gregg Cuevas, the Fremont Ambassadors beat the Deltaville Deltas, 5-2. Cuevas threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Mike Brandon closed the door for Fremont, picking up his 3rd save of the year. The win puts the Ambassadors at 50-73, while the Deltas drop to 33-90.

Chad Wright dealt the Deltas a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Fremont leading 1-0, Wright, who is tied for 10th in the N-A in doubles with 24, hit a 2-1 changeup for a run-scoring single.

Fremont manager John McNair called it "a darn good win."
