Desperados Topple Ambassadors, 9-2, as Young Shines
Santa Rosa first baseman Jim Young was instrumental in helping the Desperados triumph, 9-2, over the Fremont Ambassadors. Young went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Santa Rosa raised its record to 79-42 with the win.

The Desperados got a big hit from pinch hitter Jeff DeLong. Facing Fremont pitcher Matthew Walrod in the top of the ninth, DeLong pounded a grand slam home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season put the Desperados ahead, 9-2.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Young told the Santa Rosa Citizen.
