Stroupe Swats 2 Homers, Deltas Top Capitals, 7-0
|
Deltaville first baseman Travis Stroupe was instrumental in helping the Deltas triumph, 7-0, over the Tampa Capitals. Stroupe hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Joe Russell earned the win, while 21-year old right-handed pitcher Glenn Yarrington took the loss for Tampa. Yes, it was a win for Deltaville; but their 36-86 mark is nothing to crow about.
Early in the game, Stroupe had a 2-run home run for Deltaville. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Deltas on top, 2-0.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Stroupe.
