Desperados Walk It Off for 76th Win of Season
Kansas City wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Justin Ashe, falling to the Santa Rosa Desperados, 1-0. Ashe threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Ruben Torres, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The Desperados now have a record of 76-45.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 21-year old catcher Adam Conrad had a chance to be the hero. Kansas City pitcher Geoff Lawrence wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Conrad hit a sacrifice fly. The Desperados had themselves a thrilling win.

"This game was intense," Conrad said, postgame.
