The Santa Rosa Desperados earned a close win over the Deltaville Deltas, thanks in part to Bill Blom. The Santa Rosa right-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Chris Erickson picked up his 8th save of the season. Santa Rosa sits in 4th place in the Northern A East Division at 54-66.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Desperados had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when third baseman Chris Vandal hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Seijii Arakaki and made the score 2-0, Desperados. Vandal was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Deltaville manager Tyler Byrd.
