The Santa Rosa Desperados beat the San Antonio Stallions, 8-6. Santa Rosa pitcher and Dallas, Texas, native Bubba Byrne led the way. Santa Rosa reliever Roberto Callo picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Jim Unknown absorbed the loss. The save went to Kelly Powell, his 11th this season.

Ross Myer chipped in for Santa Rosa, stroking a crucial 2-run triple in the bottom of the eighth inning. For the game, the third baseman was 1-3 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Carlos Acevedo said.

The first-place Desperados improved to 97-23.
