Jet Hawks Lose, 3-2, in 11

The Tampa Capitals, despite a fine performance by Grand Rapids pitcher Bob Rehm, grabbed a 3-2 win in 11 innings at Capitals Ballpark. Rehm allowed no runs over 8 innings. Jim Unknown earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Their 59-63 record puts the Capitals 5th in the Northern A East Division.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Tampa. That's when R.J. DeStefano hit a solo home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Sanders to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Grand Rapids manager Sadayuki Nishikawa. "But we decided not to take it."
