Adam Mathis left his imprint on the 9-1 Glace Bay win against the Newark Flyers. Mathis, who is tied for 8th in the N-A with a .312 batting average, hit 2 home runs. With the win, Glace Bay upped its record to 80-41.

Craig Carson had a big 2-run double for the Miners in the bottom of the first inning. With Glace Bay leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Schreurs and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 30th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Miners ahead, 4-0.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Carson said. "We did a good job of that today."
