Blue Jays Walk It Off for 79th Win of Season
|
St. Catharines got a strong outing from Matt Lofstrom as the Blue Jays defeated the Fremont Ambassadors, 4-2, at Engineers Ballpark. The win was credited to Greg Mortenson in relief. His record improves to 13-4. Mike Brandon took the loss. The Northern A West Division-leading Blue Jays are 79-42.
St. Catharines got a knockout punch from Allen Baker. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Baker.
