Jet Hawks 4-2 Victors Over St. Catharines
|
Andy Devane pitched well, but the St. Catharines Blue Jays still fell short, losing, 4-2, to the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks at Jet Hawks Ballpark. Grand Rapids reliever Brian Wilson picked up the win, upping his record to 7-0. Andy Devane was saddled with the loss. With the win, the Jet Hawks have a record of 76-42.
Caleb Herd had a big 2-run home run for the Jet Hawks in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Grand Rapids leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a changeup from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Andy Devane and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Jet Hawks on top, 4-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Grand Rapids manager Sadayuki Nishikawa. "It's usually not just one thing."
