Capitals Fall Short, 3-2, at Fremont

The Fremont Ambassadors had to overcome a good performance from Tampa pitcher Manny Flores to claim a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Fremont. Flores went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Arturo Ramirez went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The right-hander struck out 5 and walked 3. With the win, he's now 1-4 this season. Lee Waters earned the save for Fremont, his 9th of the year.
The Capitals had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Ambassadors going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old third baseman Francisco O'Brien came to the plate. O'Brien hit a 2-run home run on a full count fastball from Tampa hurler Manny Flores. It was O'Brien's 6th home run of the year.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," O'Brien told the Fremont News.
Fremont has run its win streak to 5 consecutive.
