Syfrett Excels, But Rockets Win
|
Though he had a stellar game, Ryan Syfrett could not prevent his team, the Tyler Trolls, from losing, 7-5, to the Huntsville Rockets. Syfrett hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Huntsville pitcher Naohiro Goto got the win. He's now 4-0. Dan Tettemer was tagged with the loss. Huntsville goes to 71-43. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
Jesus Belcher had a big 2-run double for the Rockets in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Huntsville leading 5-4 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Roberto Pleitez and swatted a double to center. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockets ahead, 7-4.
"Not the sexiest win," said Rockets manager Alec Roller, "but I'll take it."
