Miners Resilient in 8-7 Win Over Fremont
The Glace Bay Miners outlasted Jose Lopez and the Fremont Ambassadors, 8-7. Lopez was impressive in the loss. The Fremont center fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The Miners have an impressive 73-43 record.

The Miners were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 24-year old shortstop Eddie Otero landed a big blow. He turned a 1-0 fastball from Josh Kneeland into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Miners Memorial Park denizens into a frenzy and sent the Miners home with a thrilling 8-7 win.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Otero said in his postgame press conference.
