With 5-2 Win, Desperados Improve to 69-45
|
The Santa Rosa Desperados beat the Fremont Ambassadors, 5-2. Santa Rosa pitcher and Maracaibo, Venezuela, native Ricky Fernandez led the way. Fernandez went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 11-4. Willie Valdivia was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 11 save opportunities.
Nate Galloway dealt the Ambassadors a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Santa Rosa leading 1-0, Galloway, who is tied for 6th in the N-A in home runs with 26, hit a 1-1 slider for a run-scoring single.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Santa Rosa manager Justin Watts.
With the win, Santa Rosa raised its record to 69-45.
