DiPiazza Helps Miners Defeat Cannonballers, 7-0
|
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Keith DiPiazza, the Glace Bay Miners defeated the Cottage City Cannonballers, 7-0. DiPiazza was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Miners. Glace Bay is now 80-33, while Cottage City is 31-82.
The Miners benefited from an error in the bottom of the fourth inning. Glace Bay was leading 1-0 when Josh Mahan hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Glace Bay in front, 2-0.
