Capitals Get One-Run Win at Glace Bay
|
The Tampa Capitals banked on Nate Billesbach and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Glace Bay hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Capitals. In 7.1 innings, Billesbach surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Shane Leimer got the save, the 4th for him this season.
Tampa used the timely hitting of Adam Stelting to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Capitals on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like what I saw today," said Tampa manager Matt Kaczmarczyk, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Tampa's record now stands at 46-66, placing them 5th in the Northern A East Division.
