Glace Bay pitcher Dan Thomas had a large part in his team subduing the Huntsville Rockets, 1-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The win for the Miners raised their record to 56-54.

Glace Bay took a 1-0 lead on Michael Soria's 14th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Soria hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Huntsville pitcher Jimmy Redmond visibly frustrated.

Glace Bay manager Angel Cano commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
