The Tampa Capitals could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Tom Moore into a win. Instead, the Fremont Ambassadors prevailed, 3-1, in 10 innings. Moore threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Jeff Maggard earned the save, his 7th in 9 tries. The win for the Ambassadors raised their record to 61-48.

Ryan Clark delivered a big hit for Fremont. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Ambassadors ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Ambassadors manager Dave Sullivan.
