Grand Rapids pitcher Ben Wiggins did his part in helping his team beat the Tampa Capitals, 4-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Wiggins yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-6. The triumph puts Grand Rapids at 60-50 for the season.

Grand Rapids third baseman Leo Gracia contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 39th hit of the season and put the Jet Hawks ahead, 2-0.

"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Wiggins.
