The Santa Rosa Desperados topped the Huntsville Rockets, 3-2, at Keelhaulers Ballpark. Santa Rosa center fielder Pete Horne was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. John Salgado picked up his 11th save of the season. With the victory, the Desperados record stands at 66-40.

Horne contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Santa Rosa in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-1, Horne took a fastball from Mike Redmond and stroked the home run to left. His 16th home run of the season allowed the Desperados to leap in front, 3-2.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Horne told the Santa Rosa Daily. "But we take nothing for granted."
