Miners Take Home 3-1 Win Over St. Catharines
The Glace Bay Miners rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Brian Wilkey to a win, beating the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 3-1, at Miners Memorial Bowl. Wilkey, now 9-4, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Glace Bay, at 75-32, is 8 games up in the Northern A East Division.

Glace Bay took a 3-1 lead on Alfonso Estrada's 20th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Estrada hit in the bottom of the seventh, left St. Catharines pitcher Jay Yeiser shaking his head.
