Flyers Take Tight Tangle
Newark registered a win at Newark Fields by beating the Kansas City Dust Devils, 3-2. Pitcher Ryan Johnson was one reason why the Flyers triumphed. The winner was Newark reliever Chris Cowles, now 4-2. The loser was Mario Barros. The Flyers, at 74-31, have now won 6 straight.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Newark third baseman Alex Ochoa, facing Mario Barros, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Flyers the 3-2 win.

"We were in it," said Kansas City manager Tim Cargill. "We just didn't score enough runs."
