San Antonio and Glace Bay left the crowd in suspense until the last at-bat.

The San Antonio Stallions downed the Glace Bay Miners, 3-2. The hitting star was second baseman Matt Donald. Donald went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Stallions. The winner in relief was Mike Braasch. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jose Avelar in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Oswald to win the game for San Antonio. The home crowd went nuts.

"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Donald.

San Antonio, now 59-47, holds down second place in the Northern A West Division.
