Rockets Lose at Home, 4-3, to San Antonio
|
The San Antonio Stallions beat the Huntsville Rockets, 4-3. San Antonio pitcher and Medford, Oregon, native Gil Backos led the way. In 6 innings, Backos surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. John Schwartz got credit for the save for San Antonio. It was his 16th of the year.
Noah Wilcox, who is tied for 8th in the N-A in home runs with 17, had a direct impact on the outcome. Wilcox contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put San Antonio up, 3-0.
"We found a way to get it done," Wilcox said.
At 58-46, San Antonio is in second place in the Northern A West Division.
