Capitals Come Up Short at Fremont, 4-3
The Fremont Ambassadors turned back the Tampa Capitals, 4-3, at Ballpark of Fremont. Gregg Cuevas, in particular, had a fine performance. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. The Ambassadors saw their record improve to 44-59.

Gerardo Flores had a big 2-run home run for the Ambassadors in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Fremont leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Mike Kendra, who is tied for 4th in the N-A in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Ambassadors on top, 4-1.

Cuevas called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
