Grand Rapids starter Chris Gagarian put a stranglehold on the Huntsville offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Jet Hawks to a 4-1 win. Gagarian yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-3. Grand Rapids is now 56-46, while Huntsville is 62-40.

Ernesto Olvera had a direct impact on the outcome. Olvera contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Grand Rapids up, 3-0.

"I thought we competed really well," said Jet Hawks manager Sadayuki Nishikawa. "I thought the energy was really good."
