Glace Bay starter Freddy Vazquez pitched well against the Deltaville Deltas at Rogers Centre. The right-hander led his team to a win, 1-0. Vazquez, the winner, moves to 2-4. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up no walks. Steve Oswald collected save number 24.

Glace Bay used a well-timed hit by Nick Herron to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Miners ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Freddy didn't monkey around out there," said Glace Bay field general Angel Cano.

The win boosted Glace Bay to 52-47.
