Miners Deal Jet Hawks Painful Loss
The Glace Bay Miners overcame a pretty good performance by Grand Rapids designated hitter Matt DeLaet, beating the Jet Hawks, 5-4, at Miners Memorial Bowl. DeLaet went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Cory Newton was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Myung-joo Au. Glace Bay is sitting pretty at 70-29.

Glace Bay got a clutch hit from Trevor Cunningham. The pinch hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"This place was electric at the end," Cunningham said.
