Glace Bay right-hander Bobby Jones pitched his team to victory over the Cottage City Cannonballers at Miners Memorial Park. The final score was 7-5. Glace Bay is sailing along at 71-28.
In the bottom of the fourth, Danny Rodriguez delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Glace Bay shortstop hit a run-scoring single, putting the Miners in front, 7-5.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Rodriguez told the Glace Bay Bulletin. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
