Newark Flyers starter Nick Turpen took the mound against the Santa Rosa Desperados at Newark Fields; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 3-2 win. The win went to Sean Torkelson in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Roberto Callo took the loss. With the win, the Flyers have a record of 68-30.

The Flyers got a clutch hit from right fielder Josh Winkler. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Flyers.

"This place sure got loud," said Carlos Almendarez, the Newark manager.
