Jet Hawks Handed 4-0 Loss by San Antonio
|
The San Antonio Stallions got a marvelous performance from pitcher Corey Alexander. The right-hander kept the Grand Rapids offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-0 San Antonio victory at Alamo Field. Alexander, now 8-6, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The Stallions bumped their record to 54-42 with this win.
Cody Koeppel was 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI for San Antonio. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Andy Mendelson. It was his 17th hit of the season.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Alexander.
