|
The Grand Rapids Jet Hawks topped the Santa Rosa Desperados by a score of 5-4. Leading the way was designated hitter Jimmy Zanghi. Zanghi went 5 for 5 with a home run and 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Jet Hawks. Grand Rapids sits in first place in the Northern A East Division at 60-35.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Grand Rapids trailing 4-3, Rick Gruber hit a fastball from Chris Erickson to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Jet Hawks had a walk-off win.
Grand Rapids manager Sadayuki Nishikawa called it "a good, solid win."
