Capitals Rally Late to Clip Glace Bay
The Tampa Capitals defeated the Glace Bay Miners, 9-8, at Capitals Ballpark. Tampa shortstop Joe Greer had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Tampa currently is in 5th place in the Northern A East Division at 54-41.

The Capitals were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 24-year old catcher Ivan Valenzuela landed a big blow. He turned a 0-1 fastball from Cory Newton into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Capitals Ballpark denizens into a frenzy and sent the Capitals home with a thrilling 9-8 win.

"We got the victory," said Greer. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
