7-2 Win Takes Capitals to 52-40
|
The Tampa Capitals and Newark Flyers completed their game despite the rain.
The Tampa Capitals got a stellar performance from pitcher Andy Devane, who handcuffed the Newark offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Capitals Ballpark. Devane picked up the win for Tampa, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 6-8.
Jose Escalante chipped in a 3-run home run for Tampa in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Andy gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Tampa skipper Jayden Gamble.
