Grand Rapids pitcher Chris Soto had a large part in his team subduing the Glace Bay Miners, 6-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. With the win, Grand Rapids upped its record to 57-33.

Soto's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 5 strikeouts in 7.1 innings while allowing 2 hits. Soto, who is tied for 2nd in the N-A in wins with 9, goes to 9-5 on the year with 80 strikeouts.
