Fremont Triumphs with Late Surge
The Fremont Ambassadors picked up a win at Ballpark of Fremont, topping the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 5-3. On the mound for Fremont was left-hander Jon Caruso. He played a principal role in the triumph. Chris Zich picked up the win in relief. Chase Harriger took the loss for St. Catharines. The Ambassadors raised their record to 36-53.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Gerardo Flores came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing St. Catharines pitcher Chase Harriger, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Fremont on top, 2-1.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Flores told the Fremont Herald.
