There was never a dull moment in an extra-length game between the Glace Bay Miners and the Newark Flyers.

Glace Bay right-hander Omar Valentin helped his team edge Newark by the score of 2-1 in 13 innings. Valentin kept the opposing lineup in check. Xiao-yong Ta sewed up the save, his 3rd.

Glace Bay used the timely hitting of Chris Wahl to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Miners on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Big win," said Wahl.

The first-place Miners have won 6 consecutive games.
