Murrell Leads Jet Hawks to 7-5 Win Over Flyers
Jet Hawks center fielder Larry Murrell left his mark on his team's 7-5 win over the Newark Flyers. Murrell was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Grand Rapids in the contest. Paul Stanford picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-4. Ryan Johnson, who is tied for 4th in the N-A in complete games with 1, was tagged with the loss. The save went to Marc Stephan, number 15 for him.

Grand Rapids used a clutch at-bat from Matthew Robertson to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Jet Hawks ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Nice win for us," said Robertson. "Now we'll go after the next one."

The 4th-place Jet Hawks lifted their record to 45-40.
