Zerger Lifts Desperados to 9-5 Win

Powered by Joe Zerger, the Santa Rosa Desperados downed the Cottage City Cannonballers, 9-5. Zerger was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Desperados. Santa Rosa pitcher Matt Mullins got the win. He's now 8-2. Julio Matias was tagged with the loss. Santa Rosa is third in the Northern A East Division with a record of 54-30.
Santa Rosa took the lead on Zerger's 8th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Julio Matias in the bottom of the seventh, made the score 2-1, Santa Rosa.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Zerger told the Santa Rosa Daily. "You win just by scoring more runs."
