Geltz goes 4-for-5 in Glace Bay Win
The Glace Bay Miners powered past the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 13-9, at Miners Memorial Park. Ray Geltz provided some of the pop. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3. Glace Bay reliever Joel Edmondson snagged the win, upping his record to 4-1. Mitch Jones shouldered the loss. Glace Bay leads the Northern A East Division by 5½ games.

Had Adam Mathis not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Mathis hit a 2-run single. That made the score 10-9, in favor of the Miners.
