Though the conditions were not ideal, the Glace Bay Miners and St. Catharines Blue Jays came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Greg Mortenson, who is tied for 6th in the N-A in wins with 9, pitched well, but the St. Catharines Blue Jays still fell short, losing, 2-0, to the Glace Bay Miners at Engineers Ballpark. The third-place Miners go to 53-32.
Aaron Preston hit a 2-run triple off Greg Mortenson in the top of the fourth, which put the Miners in front, 2-0. In addition to the triple, Preston had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Preston said after the game.
