Desperados Rally Late to Clip Huntsville

Santa Rosa got a strong outing from Adam Monteleone as the Desperados defeated the Huntsville Rockets, 3-2, at Keelhaulers Ballpark. Santa Rosa reliever Eduardo Garcia got the win, raising his record to 5-5. Tim Surber was tagged with the loss. The second-place Desperados are 54-27.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 21-year old center fielder Rafael Farrand had a real shot to win the game. Huntsville pitcher Tim Surber was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Farrand hit a run-scoring single. The Desperados had a walk-off triumph.
"He who laughs last laughs best," Farrand said, postgame.
