Cottage City got a terrific game from third baseman Mario Alvarado. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Kansas City, 6-5. Alvarado was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win was credited to Kyle Campbell in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Gerardo Mendoza took the loss. By defeating Cottage City, the 5th-place Dust Devils improved to 38-44.

Constantin Lupu was the walk-off hero for Kansas City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Dust Devils third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This game had its share of tense moments," Lupu said, postgame.
